Notes[]
- 1970 winner "Onde vais rio que eu canto" by Sérgio Borges did not compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 1970 as Portugal boycotted the contest due to displeasure from the results of the 1969 contest and Eurovision's then-voting structure.
- 2000 winner "Sonhos mágicos" by Liana did not compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 as Portugal was relegated from the contest due to their poor result in the 1999 contest.
- While 2020 winner "Medo de sentir" by Elisa became the Portuguese entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, it did not compete due to the contest's cancellation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
